Georgetown 24/7 Plumbing dispatches from Georgetown, KY across Scott County and to a handful of nearby towns. This page lists where we go, which ZIP codes those places use, and why the answer to who supplies your water changes from one address to the next. We cover four named towns: Georgetown, Midway, Stamping Ground and Sadieville. Lexington appears below only as a reference point, not a coverage claim.

Georgetown, ZIP 40324

Georgetown is the county seat of Scott County and our home base. It was founded by Elijah Craig in 1782, renamed George Town in 1790, and counted 37,086 residents in the 2020 census. Older streets near Main Street hold historic housing, so drain and supply problems often trace back to older pipe.

Interstate 75 runs east of downtown and US 25, also called Lexington Road, links the city to the south. Both are practical routes for dispatch. Georgetown Municipal Water and Sewer Service, or GMWSS, serves most of the city, and its office is on West Main Street.

Midway, ZIP 40347

Midway sits in Woodford County, roughly nine miles from Georgetown, and has its own page: emergency plumbing in Midway. The town was founded by a railroad in the 1830s and its historic district covers most of it. Midway city government runs a Water, Sewer and Garbage office, so ask the city who serves your address.

Nearby ZIPs matter here: 40383 is Versailles to the south and 40324 is Georgetown to the northeast. We dispatch to addresses in all three when the street address checks out.

Stamping Ground, ZIP 40379

Stamping Ground is in Scott County and was incorporated on 24 January 1834. It takes its name from the buffalo herds that gathered at Buffalo Spring, and LeCompte's Run flows nearby. The Buffalo Spring Distillery stands on Main Street.

We dispatch to Stamping Ground from Georgetown. We have not confirmed which utility serves each address, so tell us on the call and ask your local utility if you are unsure.

Sadieville, ZIP 40370

Sadieville is in the north of Scott County and is part of our regular dispatch area. We do not publish further detail about its utilities or housing, because we have not verified it. Tell us your address on the call and we will confirm.

Neighborhoods inside and near Georgetown

Downtown Georgetown includes the Main Street Commercial District, listed on the National Register in 1975, along with Royal Spring Park and the Scott County Courthouse. Older commercial buildings may have aging drain and supply lines, which is worth saying on the call. The Oxford Historic District, listed in 1979, lies northeast of the city and holds older rural housing.

Lane's Run is a historic district listed in 1984, and the East Main Street Residential District was listed in 1978. Falls Creek is among the newer subdivisions, so its piping is likely to differ from the historic core. Great Crossing, named for the ford on Elkhorn Creek, is home to Great Crossing High School, which opened in 2019.

Which utility serves your address?

Most of Georgetown is on GMWSS, which draws on Royal Spring and buys extra treated water from the Frankfort Plant Board and Kentucky American Water. Kentucky American Water also supplies some northern Scott County subdivisions, among them Moon Lake, Deer Run and Mallard Point.

A November 2025 main break in that northern area led to low pressure and a boil water advisory lasting 36 hours. Look at your bill to see who serves you, and use that utility for pressure, boil notices and the meter. In Midway, the city's own Water, Sewer and Garbage office is the one to ask.

The difference also shapes hard water. GMWSS calls its supply extremely hard and does not soften at the plant. A tank heater in a GMWSS home may collect scale faster, so ask for a flush at repair visits.

Lexington is a reference point, not a coverage claim

Lexington is the nearest National Weather Service climate station, about a dozen miles south of Georgetown, so we cite its freeze and rainfall normals. That does not mean we dispatch there. For a list of the jobs we handle once you are sure your address is covered, see our services page.
